Grappenhall Cricket Club launched it's women's section in July 2022 with an open day to launch cricket to a whole new audience in the community. We weren't sure what the interest would be but since then our women's section has gone from strength to strength.
Since the launch of the team, we have entered a number of softball tournaments and a 6 a side indoor league in January 2023. Then in the 2023 summer they entered their first softball cricket outdoor league, and managed to finish second. They have also made great progress in the women's softball cup competition. Whilst the group are only playing softball cricket at the moment, they have a burning ambition to start hardball cricket within by 2025 and they are well on track to make this a reality. Even then, we will continue to progress our existing softball cricket. We are always keen to welcome more women into cricket at Grappenhall Cricket Club, so if your interested, please get in touch with our women's cricket lead, Rebecca Ellis on 07807 210183 or ladiescricket@grappers.co.uk |
