Grappenhall Cricket Club runs a thriving and successful junior section. The club has a rich heritage of success at junior cricket over the years in all competitions. A number of the clubs juniors have also gone on to represent Cheshire at their respective age groups.
During the cricket season, Junior Training is on Friday Nights throughout the Summer, starting from 5.30pm with each age group training at slightly different times during the evening. The last session usually finishes between 8 and 8.30pm, unless it is due to get darker earlier. The training sessions are all run by ECB qualified, DBS registered coaches with a set program to develop the young players. The training is made as enjoyable as possible, especially within the younger age groups, with the emphasis on fun and learning the basics of the game at a young age. Training is supported by the excellent facilities available including training aids and equipment, a fantastic pitch and net facilities. Our coaches are qualified and trained to develop the young cricketers to the best of their abilities to assist them in the transition to senior cricket in the future if they wish. Any junior players wishing to also play senior cricket at the club should also train on Thursday evenings at the club with the senior players. For more information, click here. Indoor winter training for junior players is held on Friday evenings, usually from February onwards until the season starts. Information about these sessions will be sent out to the relevant junior age groups in due course.
